This 1 hr session explores traditional ethical principals and its applicability to advance care directive planning within our multi-cultural society as we strive to provide quality patient care.

IMPACT (Interdenominational Minority Pastor/Parishioner Advance Care Training) Empowerment, Discussion and Dissemination are the keys.
IMPACT© is an educational based program that allows for interactive education and information sharing, role play and more to reinforce the importance of making medical decisions when they are needed most.  IMPACT© sessions have proven to increase participant knowledge and confidence by increasing familiarity with appropriate terminology, participating in group discussions and  personal reflection.

A 90 minute presentation discussing the barriers to completion of advance care directives across generations of African Americans. The focus groups revealed common and unique barriers that are discussed in detail.
